Body found in river following hunt for teen who vanished after nightclub trip

POLICE have found a body in a river in Sheffield while searching for missing teenager Caroline Everest.

The 18-year-old was last seen inside the city's Corporation nightclub around 2.30am on Sunday.

South Yorkshire Police confirmed this morning that a body had been found in a river in Summerfield Street, off Ecclesall Road, at around 3.45am.

The police admitted the body is yet to be formally identified but they "believe it to be Caroline Everest", and have informed her family.


The Sheffield Hallam University student is described as 5ft 6ins tall, and was wearing a black cardigan and carrying a black handbag.

Police have appealed to anyone who might have seen Ms Everest to get in touch with them. South Yorkshire Police's Supt James Abdy previously said: "What we know is that Caroline was at the Corporation nightclub on Saturday evening, she left the nightclub at around half past two, twenty to three on Sunday morning.
