Gareth Murphy was on run from cops for terrorising an ex.
Zara Dunstance, 30, was horrified when she googled Gareth Murphy’s name and discovered he had terrorised his ex.
Zara revealed how bullying Murphy tried to turn her into his own personal Barbie doll during their romance.
He splashed out £3,500 on a 30F boob job and made her upgrade to £1,300 hair extensions and wear expensive designer clothes.
He also bought her a £1,000 puppy for Valentine’s Day as his generosity rapidly developed into a creepy obsession with her image. Zara revealed Murphy’s abuse after he was caged for attacking her when she tried to end their nine-month relationship.
And she fought back tears as she told how he threatened to throw acid in her face and kill her. She said: “I feel so stupid for letting the worst person ever into my life.” Zara, from Glasgow, said she was bowled over by Liverpudlian Murphy’s attention after he introduced himself at a Halloween party in the city’s Knightswood area last year.
But she added: “He was all about image. He’d take me shopping and buy clothes that met his approval.
“I am a High Street girl but he wanted me to wear designer gear like a £1,400 jacket.
After I got my boobs done he was asking what I wanted next. But I was thinking the whole time I didn’t want to change my looks. He tried to make me into Barbie he wanted a wee doll he could dress up.
“He threw money at me but that’s not what I was interested in. I just wanted a relationship based on happiness, loyalty and respect.”
