Police believe the men to be linked with IS
THE European terror alert switched to Germany as anti-terror cops arrested two men suspected of plotting "a significant criminal act against state security."

German police commando units swooped on the men in Berlin, who are believed to have links to terror group IS, on Thursday. A police spokesman revealed that the two men, aged 28 and 46, had been arrested on suspicion of planning an attack and a cultural centre was also searched.

Buildings were evacuated after an object was discovered in the suspects' car
Reports from Germany said the two men, from Syria and Tunisia, were suspected of plotting an attack on Dortmund from Berlin. Authorities have also started criminal investigations into other people, including asylum seekers, in connection with the arrests.

Buildings were evacuated after a car used by the two suspects was discovered containing an object which was presumed to be hazardous. In a separate incident reports suggest that the arms dealer who supplied the Paris attackers with guns was arrested in Germany on November 16th.

Documents from the Stuttgart prosecutor’s office said four automatic weapons were sold on November 7 to a customer in Paris – 6 days before the terrorists struck in the French capital. The 34-year-old man, named only as Sascha W was arrested in the southern German city of Magstadt on suspicion of trading in illegal weapons.

Emails on the man’s phone also seem to show that he sold “four Kalashnikov assault rifles to an Arab in Paris”.

Cops also discovered 16 other firearms in the suspect’s house. Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Wednesday that the threat level in Germany remained high following the massacres in Paris which claimed the lives of 130 people on November 13.
