SECURITY cameras have captured the moment a young boy shoots and kills a homeless man on a public street in broad daylight.

The video footage shows an adolescent boy armed with a handgun approach the homeless man on the streets of Pradera in central west Colombia.

The boy then shoots the homeless local man at point-blank range in broad daylight, before running off to leave his victim for dead on the street. The homeless man was sitting at his usual spot in a small square when he was blasted by the youth.

The 30-year-old, who was a much loved local character, died minutes later from the bullet wounds.
Local citizens are demanding justice for the murdered homeless man, who they say used to pitch in to help locals with household chores and deliveries.

Authorities in the dangerous area are unsure of the motive behind the cruel hit as residents demand a stronger police presence to combat rising street violence.

The police officer in charge of the case, Fernando Murillo, said: "The attacker was an adolescent boy, has been identified and we are currently trying to pinpoint his whereabouts."

This attack comes a month after a 19-year-old gang member practiced his execution skills by shooting dead a sleeping homeless man in south-western Colombia.

A local councillor said at the time: “Look at the social decomposition we see today. These are youngsters. We need to look for ways to include these people back into society.”
