| Emiliya Kovacheva was arrested after CCTV footage of the attack emerged |
Baby Nicole’s mother had been in SofiaMed hospital in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia to give birth, but left her baby under evil Emiliya Kovacheva’s care.
The nurse was arrested and charged with attempted murder after the distressed baby was found suffering from a fractured skull and bite marks. When the wounds were discovered hospital CCTV was checked to find the cause.
The baby was lucky to survive the attack and would have died if not for elite surgeons at another Bulgarian hospital. Boriana Marinkova, a spokesperson from Tokuda hospital, where the baby was saved, said: "The most important thing for a child’s parents is to see how the baby will recover, other things are not so important."
An online comment on the disturbing video sums up the feelings towards the cruel carer: “I've never seen anything so horrific. I say if you’re that stressed and feel you've reached your breaking point, then leave the building, go stay with a friend, call someone who cares!
"But what she did in beating, choking, punching and yanking and shaking this child by the neck crosses all the boundaries. This woman had plenty of opportunities to re-think her actions while she was in between beatings, yet she came back and did more.
"I absolutely feel she had the intent to kill baby Nicole. My heart goes out to the parent of this baby. I pray she doesn't suffer any brain damage."
