Hotel in Cumbria floods for the THIRD time in one month

A HOTEL has flooded for the THIRD time this month as families in the North are warned their homes could flood on Christmas Day.
The Glenridding Hotel flooded again after another bout of heavy rain

Owners of The Glendridding Hotel, near Ullswater in Cumbria, described "feeling deflated" as their business was water-logged yet again. In a post on Facebook, they wrote: "The beck is overflowing once again past the bridge and the what was Ratchers Bar and the Kitchen is flooding again.

"Contractors are in trying to save their equipment. Fire brigade are on their way to help pump out the water we are currently at around 2 ft of water." "We just need to smile and carry on."
Motorists are being warned that roads could see more flooding in the coming days
Meanwhile the Met Office issued 11 flood warnings in Appleby, Carlisle, Kendal and Keswick and 14 flood alerts across Cumbria.

More storms are expected to hit in the North in the coming days

A spokesperson warned that houses could face surface flooding on Christmas Day evening with heavy rain falling on already saturated ground in the North East, North West, Tayside, Wales and Scottish Borders.
