Fans noted similarities between the tracks when Brit singer first released the hit.

Superstars Adele and Lionel Richie
IT’S a good job ADELE is raking in the big bucks with her record-breaking music comeback. The superstar might just need to dip into her savings if LIONEL RICHIE gets his way.

Hilariously, the Motown legend claims he got in touch with his legal team to find out if he had any ownership over the word “hello”, after Adele’s million-selling comeback single reminded him of his classic Eighties ballad of the same name.

Fans noted similarities between the tracks when Adele first released the hit. In an exclusive chat, Lionel said: “You can’t use my word without my acknowledgement, thank you very much.

I have been trying to figure out, from a legal point of view, can you own a word? So far all the lawyers have told me, ‘No’. I’ve tried . . . but the association is fabulous!”
