Schoolboy, Jordan Leetham, has been given a week long detention for his David De Gea inspired haircut
A SCHOOLBOY has been given a week-long detention after he cut his hair to look like his footballing idol Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea. Lifelong Man United fan Jordan Leetham, 15, turned up for school on Monday with his new 'do - a mohawk, with shaved sides and long on top.

The school branded his haircut 'extreme'
But teachers were so unimpressed with his "extreme" haircut, he was told he would go without lunch and break times and stay inside for a week.
His dad, 50-year-old Paul, has blasted the school's decision as "pathetic".

Paul, a bus driver who also plays in a rock band, said: "I just still can't believe it. It's pathetic.
"When I was at school, all they were bothered about was the grades you got."

He said: "It doesn't have a gangster logo shaved in it - or lines. It's nothing offensive. "When they told me Jordan was getting detention, I went mad and told them it wouldn't be happening.

"If he wants to have a rockstar hairdo, then I say let him. "A lot of people have been saying he looks like Man City's (Sergio) Agüero - which of course is not what he wanted.

"He's a Manchester United membership holder and loves goalkeeper David De Gea - that's why he wanted the same hairstyle as him." The dad, from York, explained: "He went to a local hairdressers and came back with it.
"His hair is smart and when I went to school it had to be short. "Jordan is definitely a chip off the old block.
"He's even had his hair with blue in and all different types of variations. He definitely takes after his dad in that respect."
