Five German men were hospitalised with bruises in Athens late on Thursday after a beating by anarchists, police said.
The
Germans, part of a group of around a dozen, were assaulted while eating
at a restaurant in the capital's tourist district, a police source told
AFP.The source said the Germans were assaulted as suspected far-right activists.
"Tonight anti-fascist comrades smashed a group of around 15 German fascists invited by (Greek) neo-Nazi (party) Golden Dawn," said a posting Thursday on anti-establishment site Indymedia.
