CELEBRITY Big Brother runner-up Stephanie Davis has poured her heart out about her controversial romance with Jeremy McConnell - claiming he saved her from her "toxic" relationship with Sam Reece.

The ex Hollyoaks star was booed over her controversial fling, despite managing to finish second behind Geordie Shore star Scotty T. Steph was in a relationship with model Sam for over a year, but she couldn't resist the Irishman's charms - and as well as telling him that she LOVED him, appeared to have sex with him as disgusted housemates tried to block out the noise.

She told Emma Willis: "I'm only a human being and I'm really sorry if I've upset people, but I can't be sorry for my feelings for Jez. I love him to bits." She added of her trouble relationship with Sam: "A few years ago I got really badly treated to the point I've still got counselling now.

"I kept staying with him just to keep being disappointed and feeling worthless in myself. Then Jez came along and he made me feel like I've never felt before. He is just the best person I've ever met. He is the best thing going.

"I think I was in love with the idea of being in love, that's why I stuck with someone who hurt me and hurt me and hurt me. It turned toxic."

Stephanie insisted that she is not the type of person to normally cheat. She said: "If things were perfect at home I would never look the other way. Because Sam had already cheated and the trust is broken, there was no coming back from it.

"I've never been truly loved before. I've always funded for everything, done everything. I've never had someone love me for being me. As days went on I just fell more and more for him."

But Steph admitted she isn't certain how her romance with Jez will go in the real world. She said: "Jez might be like, 'Nah I just want to stay friends'. It's down to me and him. Maybe I might go to Dublin and see what that's like."

Stephanie's drama dominated this series, and she found herself at the heart of almost every showdown.
She fought with former Hollyoaks co-star Danniella Westbrook, 42, who threatened to urinate over her bed linen in a row over a hidden trainer.

Big Brother issued her with a formal warning after she tried to smash up the Diary Room in a blind rage, and made an unauthorised use of the emergency exit.
