Police have issued a warning to festival-goers there is "no safe way to take drugs"
A 17-year-old has died after taking drugs at Leeds Festival.

The youth, from the Greater Manchester, underwent emergency treatment but he was pronounced dead a short while later. Police said they were contacted at about 16.45 BST on Saturday and the teenager was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The teenager collapsed immediately after taking drugs at the festival, West Yorkshire Police said

Two 17-year-old males have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences and are in custody. Ch Supt Keith Gilert said: "We are currently investigating the death and how he obtained the substance he took."

"At this time the indications are that the man consumed drugs immediately before he collapsed. A report will be sent to the coroner in due course," he added.
