ODM extends deadline for submission of application papers

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has extended the deadline for aspirants to submit their application papers to the party by ten days.

ODM’s elections board made the decision after witnessing long queues at Orange House on Saturday as hundreds of aspirants rushed to beat the initial midnight deadline.

According to ODM’s National Elections Board Chair Judith Pareno, a majority of the applicants had travelled upcountry for the festive season and thus could not beat the Saturday deadline.

Pareno, however, noted that already thousands have tendered their applications and will be cleared to contest in the party’s primaries early this year on a date to be set by the party.
