A MUM-OF-FOUR who posted explicit images of her former lover on Facebook has become the first woman to be jailed for revenge porn in the UK.

Samantha Watt took intimate photos of her 21-year-old ex while they were in a relationship, including one of the victim performing a sex act on her and uploaded them to Facebook on July 1.

Watt captioned the post: “This girl pays for rent with sex and dirty pics lol she wants a taste of Sam’s life she’s getting a taste of how I can be. You can’t disrespect me.”


The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was horrified to find the post alongside comments from others suggesting she was involved in prostitution and paedophilia.
Watt responded to these suggestions saying: “We all know her well some know her better than others you get me?”
Watt initially claimed one of the pictures was of her own privates rather than the victims and told police the sex act was intended as a joke, and it was the victim’s idea to post on Facebook.
She later admitted it was intended as a threat and that if the victim didn't stop “treating her badly” there would be “more than photos” because she wanted the victim to “feel alone”.
The jobless former cleaner sat red-faced in the dock as she was jailed for 18 weeks, of which she will serve just half before being released on licence.
Handing out the sentence, district judge Julia Newton said: “I have considered the impact on the complainant and that impact has been enormous.
“In her personal statement she expresses concern that the photos may re-emerge in the future.
“The photos themselves are very graphic in nature and were widely available for distribution over which she had no control.
