MANUEL PELLEGRINI says Raheem Sterling must handle the boos from Liverpool’s hate mob today.
Reds fans remain furious at the way Sterling, 20, engineered his way out of Anfield in the summer.

But as they prepare to give him a fiery reception at the Etihad, City boss Pellegrini said: “One of the most important things in important games is to have a cold mind, maybe a hot heart but a cold mind.

“All the boos and different things from the fans are away from the pitch.
“The important thing is between the players on the pitch. There is a lot of intensity in these games.”

England star Sterling was branded greedy and a ‘snake’ by some Liverpool supporters after making his controversial £49million switch to City in July.

Yet he has settled in well with six goals for his new club already, including a hat-trick against Bournemouth.
Pellegrini is convinced Sterling made the right decision by moving along the M62 to join the Premier League table-toppers. He said: “It’s so difficult to know what will happen in the future if Raheem had chosen another path.

“All I know is that playing here with David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure he will improve.”
