Record number of security guards on duty to stop shopping aisle fights

EXCLUSIVE: Shops plan crackdown on Black Friday bargain hunting madness.

Fighting ... shop last year
THOUSANDS of extra security guards will be on duty for Black Friday as stores crack down on people brawling for bargains.

Last year shoppers fought to snare half-price electronics, with police called to 15 supermarkets and dozens more outlets forced to shut. Cops told stores to provide “carefully considered in-store security plans”.
The record total of security staff will include club and pub doormen.

They will be told to refuse admission to rowdy people, cap shopper numbers and eject anyone who is physically aggressive. Chains offering Black Friday deals include Tesco, Sainsbury’s, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Currys and Argos.

A Tesco spokesman said: “We have taken steps including increasing numbers of security guards.”
Sainsbury’s joined Tesco yesterday in axing midnight sale launches after drunks went to stores from pubs last year and caused trouble
