This must be the world’s scariest house to live in...

MOST of us seek safety and comfort within the walls of our own homes.

However, few people would enjoy many a restful night in this particular residence. 


That’s because it sits in the middle of tiny German island Hallig Habel and is surrounded by the sea during extreme high tides.

At low tide, the surface area of the island is about 655 metres long and 100 metres wide.

But when the German Wadden Sea encroaches, the sole house on Hallig Habel appears to be perilously close to being submerged – especially in the event of a storm.
One can only imagine the insurance costs...
