Two women arrested for buying and selling six-week-old baby on Facebook

A sex worker 'sold her baby to a jilted woman on Facebook'

TWO women have been arrested for buying and selling a baby on FACEBOOK. 

A 32-year-old sex worker sold her six-week-old girl for just £166 ($250) after spotting a “want ad” posted by the 18-year-old buyer, officials say. 

The teen then apparently presented the infant to a lover who had jilted her, telling him the child was theirs. 

The man called the police and the two women were arrested on human trafficking charges. 

Cops used the alleged buyer’s Facebook page where the ad was placed as evidence – though the page was no longer active. Bolivian officials claim the sex worker had sold the baby because she didn't know the father’s identity and wanted to recover childbirth costs.
