Naked yob Tom O'Neill, 32, later kicked a police officer who came down to arrest him. He was filmed goading motorists in Southend, Essex, on Friday January 8. People behind the camera laugh as he confronts cars with his clothes sprawled across the road.

One of his spectators says: "He's going to get arrested." A video of his behaviour was posted online with the caption: "So this happened down Southend seafront tonight.

"An extremely drunk Irish fella stark, butt naked trying to fight oncoming cars!" Another video of the incident has the caption: “Man fights with traffic naked in Southend!" PC Mick Finch, with police dog Cody, arrested O'Neill after they were called to the spot.

He was handed a combination order at Southend Magistrates' court, which includes a court order meaning he must abide by a curfew between 8pm to 7am for a month. O'Neill, from the Essex town, was charged with criminal damage to a vehicle, being drunk and disorderly as well as assaulting a police officer.

He admitted all three charges and was also ordered to pay £300 compensation. A spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service said: "The compensation goes to a taxi operator who tried to pass him and as he did, O'Neill punched the headlight causing the headlight lens to break.

"When he was arrested there was a paramedic and a police officer who was trying to assist him and he kicked out, kicking the officer in the side of the chest."
