US commander exposes true horror of ‘paradise’ ISIS state

Would-be jihadis are realising their dream caliphate ‘isn’t all unicorns and rainbows’.

Colonel says the tide of foreign fighters to ISIS' twisted banner is slowing as the shocking truth about the state emerges
WANNABE Islamic State fighters are finally realising their dream caliphate is not all “unicorns and rainbows” a top US commander revealed yesterday.

US Army Colonel Steve Warren, the chief spokesman for Operation Inherent Resolve  the global mission against ISIS said the true horror of their paradise state has now been exposed.

He claimed the shock realisation is now slowing the tide of foreign fighters to their twisted banner.
So far “the most precise air campaign in the history of warfare” has wiped out thousands of fighters and has left ISIS on the back foot, Colonel Warren said.

Right now senior and mid-level commanders are being killed at a rate of one every two days.
Islamic State has lost 40 per cent of its territory in Iraq and 10 per cent in Syria.

And air strikes  including by Top Gun RAF jets and drones  have left their once bursting finances in ruin. Now ISIS commanders cannot “keep the lights on” and they have had to halve fighters’ pay while increasing taxes on their “captives.”

The average monthly salary has halved from $400 US a month to $200 a month. Colonel Warren, on a trip to the UK, said: “We believe Daesh is now beginning to lose. We see them in a defensive crouch.

“They can’t keep the lights on. They can’t provide services. Not only do they not pay people, they tax people. “This caliphate isn’t all unicorns and rainbows as Daesh wants people to think it is. “These are disgusting people and they have done horrible, horrible things.”

He warned any wannabe jihadis – including those from Britain – who venture to Iraq and Syria will get killed. He said: “My message to British Jihadi is if you go to Iraq and if you go to Syria you will be killed.

“You will either be killed by your so-called partners, who have executed each other with grotesque regularity, or you will be killed by ground forces either in Syria or Iraq who don’t want you there.

“If you manage to survive either one of those two things you will be killed by coalition air power.
“So there is no future in being a jihadi. It is a very short career.” And he said the collation will continue taking out top fighters like Jihadi John revealing that bomb attack left ISIS in disarray for days.

He said: “When we killed Jihadi John what we saw was an immediate frenzy of activity inside of Daesh where they rounded up their own fighters. “There was a spike in executions over the next several days and an adjustment to their communications.

“The reason is these strikes sow fear and paranoia inside the organisation, which is why they are so helpful. “We’re going to keep doing it.” He added there is no limit to their barbarity.

In recently liberated Ramadi barbarous ISIS fighters booby trapped copies of the holy Koran with bombs in a bid to blow up fellow Muslims.
The clinical strikes are not forcing ISIS to conscript fighters into its ranks and use child soldiers, he said.
But the success of air strikes could force ISIS fanatics to carry out more attacks  like the Paris atrocities – outside the Caliphate’s borders. He added: “As we squeeze them, as we begin to see them get chipped away at, we are going to see them look for avenues.

“We’ve seen this in Libya, north Africa and Afghanistan. We’ve seen this through high-visibility terror attacks in places like Paris. “As this enemy continue to feel that it is back on its heels ... they are going to want to show the world that they are still viable.

“And one of the ways they can do that is through a high-visibility attack outside their caliphate.”
But he conceded that despite the momentum swing the war will take “years” to complete.
