Residents of different parts of the country joined Ichaweri residents to celebrate after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced President Kenyatta the winner after garnering 8,203, 290 votes against his closest challenger, Raila Odinga, who received 6,762,224 votes.

In Samburu County, celebrations rented the air in as residents dashed to the streets in Maralal town to celebrate President Kenyatta’s win.
The residents expressed their satisfaction and trust in Jubilee government’s leadership further expressing optimism that the President would fulfill his promises to the country in his second term.
Other parts of the country that witnessed such celebrations include Nakuru, Nyeri, Murang’a and President Kenyatta’s backyard, Gatundu South.
