Police responded shortly after 7 a.m. to an apartment complex in the 3100 block of Electric Avenue, according to Port Huron Police Sgt. Dave Seghi.
Seghi said the father had left a loaded BB gun within reach of his 4-year-old son.
The boy began playing with the gun. it discharged and hit his 1-year-old brother in the neck.
The shot did break skin, but did not lodge in the child’s neck, Seghi said. He said the injury appeared to be minor.
